This piece of furniture will connect stories of elderly people with film
and photo material of the Archive and was placed in care centre
Dekelhem in Gieten. Purpose of the cabinet is putting local history in a personal environment.
Waag Society has developed several projects with a connection between the physical and virtual as well as cultural heritage and personal heritage.
For example: Register van de Dag van Gisteren en HerinnerDing (National Archive). The newest version in the narrative furniture series: DAVA Exchange Cabinet connects local personal stories with archive material.
Those two aspects (local and personal) make regional history more accessible.
Partners in this project were DAVA, GGZ Drenthe and !Pet. The Drents Exchange Cabinet was finished Spring 2007.
