Cultural organisations, artists and designers are working on developments in societal challenges, from healthcare and privacy to biodiversity. However, the strength of the cultural sector could be used more in social developments and transitions.
This is why Waag Futurelab launched Werkplaats voor de toekomst (Workshop for the Future): a programme and platform to strengthen the role of the creative sector in solving social issues. In Werkplaats voor de toekomst, Waag connects local initiatives with social and global issues. An important part of this is the development of a national network in which cultural, social, educational and public institutions cooperate structurally. Werkplaats voor de toekomst started in cooperation with Tetem, SetUp, IABR, Fablab Amersfoort, Fablab Oldenzaal, Arcadia and the Koninklijke Bibliotheek.
Werkplaats voor de toekomst is one of the breaktrough programmes of Waag. Read more about the breakthrough programmes in our research agenda.
